MACHABA CAMP
General Infos
The name Machaba is the local Setswana name for the Sycamore Fig Tree, the tree of life. Machaba Camp is independently owned and run, and is aimed at the affordable luxury travel markets across the world, offering great value for money and a unique classical safari experience. Machaba Camp will appeal to the novice safari guest as well as to the seasoned safari traveller.
Machaba Camp is situated in the game rich Khwai area. The Khwai Concession is a 35 000 hectare reserve situated in the north eastern Okavango adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve.
The camp will offer WiFi in guest rooms, in-room spa treatments and complimentary laundry service.

Machaba Camp is an iconic 1950s style safari camp replete with luxury tented rooms containing en-suite bedrooms with modern bathrooms, patio deck and relaxation area, and romantic outdoor showers. The tents are positioned alongside the picturesque Khwai River to optimise privacy and views of the animals coming to the river's edge to drink, and are linked by a pathway that meanders between large riverine trees.
The camp is comprised of two luxury family safari tents and eight luxury twin safari tents.

MONACHIRA CAMP
General Infos
Monachira is named after the Monachira channel which flows past the island on which the camp is situated. The camp is raised on wooden decks to give one a view of the floodplains and wetlands which stretch out in front of camp.
The camp is situated on the edge of the Monachira channel not far from the famous Gudigwa heronries, offering great viewing of this amazing nesting ground of thousands of herons, egrets and storks. A chance to see elephants, lions, leopard and a wide variety of Okavango species on the islands and floodplains along the permanent channels of the Monachira river. Also a chance to see the elusive Pels Fishing Owl and rare sitatunga, a semi aquatic swamp antelope.

Inspired by classic safaris and infused with a modern flair, Monachira Camp seamlessly blends nostalgia with contemporary luxuries. Our double and family designer tents each contain an en-suite bedroom with modern bathrooms, patio deck and relaxation area, offering ample space to unwind in your own privacy. Shaded by the island forests, our tents are ideally positioned overlooking the vast floodplains while offering unparalleled views of the wildlife frequenting the surrounding wetlands.
Monachira will have 8 luxury twin/double tents with ensuite bathroom, and 2 x 2 bedroom family tents, each with two bathrooms. Guest rooms will fan out on either side of an expansive main area tent with dining area, lounge, curio shop and fire pit for those pre-dinner refreshments. A pool near the main area overlooking the floodplains beyond completes the camp.
